Step 9 ~ Experian Business File Creation
The process to create an Experian Business credit file is easy, unlike their counterpart Dunn & Bradstreet. As we mentioned previously, Experian does not charge anything to setup a file so you will have less of a headache to deal with in this step of building corporate business credit. The only way you can and will have a file created is automatically, which can happen either of two ways.
The most common way an Experian Business credit file is created is as soon as a lender reports activity to Experian. This is where it is important to start with the companies we recommend later in this guide. If you try to apply to a lender that requires an established Experian Business credit file then your business will be instantly declined, and you can’t apply to that lender again for 90 days.
The other way an Experian Business credit file is automatically created is after a certain unknown timeframe, Experian Business will notice a businesses online listing on their respective Secretary of State website. This will create a generic file but there is still no point in having an empty corporate credit file since most lenders need to see activity reporting in order to approve a new corporate credit account.
